Welcoming Our New Executive Director: Vana Littell
A leader built for this mission — and this moment.
After 26 extraordinary years, Daphne and Chuck Sloan are passing the torch — and the Tanzania Education Fund could not be more fortunate in who is stepping forward to carry it.
We’re proud to welcome Vana Littell as our incoming Executive Director. Vana is a global development leader with over 25 years of experience across the EU, WWF, and the United Nations. She’s fluent in English, French, and Greek, based in Los Angeles, and deeply committed to the children of Bagamoyo.
Vana brings a career built on exactly what this mission needs: managing large-scale programs across Africa and the Pacific for the European Union, leading global fundraising for the WWF network, and overseeing financial operations for the United Nations. She has spent her career turning belief into action — and now she brings that energy to Bagamoyo.

Vana steps into this role as TEF marks a milestone moment — honoring the 26-year legacy Daphne and Chuck Sloan built, and looking ahead to what’s next for the Margery Wolf Kuhn School and Charles Wolf Sloan Health Centre.
