It’s a simple equation: more scholarships = more students who receive a quality education and enhanced life opportunities.
Ten students (pictured above) will begin learning at MWK through the new Primary TEF Scholarship Program. The goal of the program is for students to complete primary school and go on to complete MWK secondary school. As with all scholarship students, they receive intensive English training.
The Primary Program is based on TEF’s Scholars’ Program, which provides full scholarships for 80 secondary students. A plus of the new Primary Program is that younger students observe the older scholars and can see the value of excelling at MWK Schools.
In building this program, MWK appreciates the contributions of international supporters and individuals:
- Dagmara Ikiert of Poland created an initiative through the Polish University of Victory, Inc.that has sponsored 38 secondary students over eight years.
- The Bagamoyo Friendship Society, a German group that sponsors many education and arts projects, is sponsoring 6 students.
- Early leaders in sponsoring primary students: Jim and Liz Newton of Canada, have sponsored 8 students for the past 7 years as they move from primary through secondary school. RATI-RANI, an organization founded by MWK volunteer alums from Egaa Gymnasium school in Denmark, has sponsored 9 students through 4 years of their schooling. Egaa is an MWK partner school.
Donate to be a sponsor or mentor for an eager student for $700 a year!
